A long story short

Lots going on, but the top line is: there are 15 pairs of tickets for the Radio 1 Big Weekend to be had this week. I need YOU to get your hands on them before anyone else.

So, here's a quick summary of what happened over the weekend:

And here's the longer version...

In the BBC, I found a black-and-white board game. It turned out that the counters spelled out a web address in braille, leading us to http://www.silburngriggsmining.com/projectfia/ - the secret files of the man behind the whole Frozen Indigo Angel project. His name is Cyrus Quinton, and FIA is a subliminal messaging scheme building up to something huge at the Big Weekend.

Thanks to everyone who's helped me get this far. In particular, thank you to Violet - http://www.violetunderground.com - in Perplex City, who has been conducting her own investigation into all this from a different angle. Looks like Cyrus and the FIA technology come from Perplex City too, and Violet has a bit of a history with him. Take a look at her website for more background.

But the main thing is the tickets. Cyrus is trying to give out the first few tickets tomorrow night in Liverpool - I'm not sure exactly how he plans to do it, but he mentions some kind of puzzle to be revealed today at http://www.silburngriggsmining.com/projectfia/, so keep an eye on that.

I need you to get those tickets.

Oh, and happy birthday to me.

Happy Birthday Paul!

Happy Birthday!

Keep up the good work

Answer to this first puzzle seems to be Snow Patrol if anyone cares :)

Get it right and you get:

"Congratulations on solving the Lyrics puzzle. You've proven yourself as sharp as anyone in Perplex City, and are eligible to receive a pair of free tickets to the Big Weekend.

Send me an email if you want these tickets. BUT: unless you or a trusted person can pick up these tickets from Liverpool in person on Tuesday, do not bother emailing me. I won't post these tickets. In any case, you'll need to be resourceful for the challenges that await you.

Email me at cyrus532@gmail.com with the subject artifice.

I'll only be contacting the first 3 or 4 people who email me. If you don't hear from me, that means I've already allocated all the tickets for today.

V"

Er, I've solved the puzzle but I can't get to Liverpool tomorrow or Preston this weekend...so I guess I'm not much use...

anyone else find it strange that the silburngriggsmining.com domain was registered only 3 days ago, and by the same company that pauldenchfield.com is registered with??

also the fact that paul registered frozenindigoangel.co.uk & frozenindigoangel.com on the 19/04/07?? quick on the ball there, maybe a bit too quick!!

oh and when you do a whois on frozenindigoangel.co.uk i get a full london address. if this is you home address, this could explain your break in.

i got the frozen indigo angel text in my obw registration email, so I’m naturally curious, but I’m convinced that paul has got something to do with it.

It seemed very nice and sunny where Paul was filming today, in that there park. Considering London and most of the south is covered in cloud / rain... Possibly pre-filmed..?

dont know whether this site is anything to do with it but check out http://support.bbc.co.uk/support/rota_secnet.shtml

who knows what is

there's another silburn griggs website aswell -

www.silburn-griggs.com

This section of the website look especially strange:
http://www.silburn-griggs.com/dangers.html

i dont know what the clue on this website is but there has got to be something

hope this helps...

good luck xx

i cant see the beeeb leaving something like that lying around also check out the heading at top same as the diagnostic page?????

ok i looked into the second silburn griggs site and it seems to just be another Perplex city thing...

sorry.. just ignore what i said before!

Happy birthday, and welcome down the rabbit hole. Have fun researching your new friends in a parallel universe!

nikkinoo: not sure; there's all sorts of interesting semi-internal BBC stuff that's accessible on the web, if you care enough to look. (I think that did include rotas for technical staff).

On the other hand, that page may well be bogus - the style and schedule information seem off.

I checked, and that part of the site is genuine, not to mention ancient - bits of it got mentioned at http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=57967&cid=5569030 (the bandwidth graphs). It's fairly obscure knowledge, though. Besides, most of it doesn't seem to be accesible to non-BBC staff anymore.

BIG WEEKEND - FESTIVAL SAVED!

In April and May 2007, I claimed there was a cover-up at the BBC to do with the words 'Frozen Indigo Angel'. It was all part of an Alternate Reality Game run by Radio 1 and the guys behind Perplex City - in fact, I encountered a character or two from Perplex City myself.

During the game, we gave away tickets to the Big Weekend, musical instruments belonging to major bands, and introduced thousands of people to a whole new world. All for free.

If you'd like to re-live the adventure, check out my first video, and then watch the rest.
